Given to each client is the right and respect in having their session kept in the strictest of Confidence and Privacy. Any and all information covered in sessions is never revealed to another person, except with the permission of the client.
Children
Children ages 5 to 12 regardless of the topic are given the same respect and privacy as an adult. Their sessions will only be discussed with a parent or guardian. Their parent or guardian is to be in each session – though at times the child may open up easier being alone.
Youth
Children older than 12 are considered to have the right to privacy same as a child in that their sessions are private from their parents or guardian, unless permission is granted by the 12+ person. Third party (even family) sharing is at the sole discretion of the 12+ person and discussed until understood why Cilica may think it’s in their best interest.
However, in the nature of safety, self-harm or harm to others, Cilica has the discretion to discuss a client’s session with the appropriate person (doctor, mental health practitioner, priest, alike) if she believes it is necessary and in the best interest in protection of the client. This disclosure is rare and practised with thought and intelligence and in accordance of the laws of Canada and the rest of the world where the client may reside.
If and when sessions are recorded, the file is never held on a hard drive where the public have access nor on the internet where the information may be ‘hacked’ or mistakenly made public. All recording are held in a secure manner and only for reference by Cilica or the client themselves. In the case that there are legal grounds for sharing your recordings or session notes, when presented with legal documents of the law of the land where you reside or where these legal proceedings affect, will any information be shared.
Privacy and copyright laws are strictly adhered to at all times. Freedom of Information act states that at any time the client may ask for full disclosure of all information gain on them. When requesting the information for yourself or on behalf of another, please allow for a minimum of 14 days us to reply to your request(s).
